Gregor's Room

Gregor's Room
White copy paper, ink (no adhesives used)
Largest sculpture measures approx. 8" x 6" x 1"
A visual response to the short story The Metamorphosis by Franz Kafka.

An unsettling shade of green washes the blanket that sits atop a dark and spotty mattress. Prison-like bars function as the headboard to this bed. An askew pillow rests at the top of the bed. A small side table, perfect to lean on when confused and wobbly on multiple legs. A shady and dim atmosphere is where Gregor resides day in and out. He might lay nestled amongst the blankets or coiled up in anxiety, though either the bed becomes his sun, revolving around it as the hours tick by, his return to it inevitable.
